Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following requirements before applying to become a police officer with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

  • You must be 19 years of age or older.
  • You must be a citizen of Canada or a Permanent Resident.
  • You must have a completed Grade 12 education diploma or equivalency.
  • You must have no criminal record.
  • You must have an up-to-date First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • You must have a valid Class G Drivers License or equivalent from province of issue.

Experienced Officers

If you are an officer who is currently serving or has served within the past three (3) years with another police agency in Canada, you may apply to our service as an experienced officer!
